SUMMARY:Technical Happy Hour - Depth Perspective
DESCRIPTION:Host:  Society of Petroleum Engineers\, Denver Section \n  \nEvent:  May 23rd\, 2023 Technical Happy Hour \n  \nTime:  May 23rd\, 4-6 (HH begins at 4\, Talk at 430\, Social until 6) \n  \nLocation: DERL \n  \nSponsor: Ziebel an Archer Company \n  \nStudy Group Category:  Completion \n  \nSpeaker: Matthew Lawrence\, Region Technical Advisor at Ziebel an Archer Company \n\nTitle: Depth Perspective:  Understanding How and Where Wells Talk by Integrating During-Frac Cross-Well Strain Data and Post-Completion Flow Allocation and Interference Testing Data \n\nAbstract: \nOn an eight well pad in the Permian Basin\, an operator acquired fiber optic cross-well strain data on two wells revealing details about the created fracture network during consecutive zipper operations on two groups of three wells.  After the wells went on production\, a combination production allocation and interference sensing program were performed to evaluate the hydraulically conductive fractures at the cluster level and the extent of communication with offset wells.  This presentation details what strain and flow analysis reveal\, exposes the blind spots of each diagnostic method\, and highlights how their integration provides unmatched perspective of fracture and production performance. \n  \nBio: \nMatthew Lawrence is the Region Technical Advisor for Ziebel an Archer Company.  Although he entered the oil and gas industry with a background in computer science designing and coding data analysis and visualization tools\, he’s spent much of the last two decades part of teams that have introduced innovative technologies like array production logging tools\, electromagnetic imaging tools\, leak detection and reservoir characterization with point-sensor acoustic logging tools and most recently carbon rod deployed fiber optics for distributed acoustic\, strain and temperature sensing. \n  \nRegistration Link: Click HERE
