SUMMARY:General Meeting: Diagnostic Driven Multiphase Well Performance Analysis and Production Forecasting
DESCRIPTION:  \nTitle: \nDiagnostic Driven Multiphase Well Performance Analysis and Production Forecasting \n  \nAbstract: \nThis presentation focuses on diagnostics driven multi-phase well performance analysis and production forecasting methods in unconventional (low-permeability) reservoirs.  We will provide background for recently introduced methodologies adapted/developed for unconventional reservoirs including basis for selecting/identifying decline parameters.  This presentation will primarily include examples from various basins illustrating methods for forecasting gas-oil ratio\, evaluating multi-phase behavior and addressing challenges associated with significant changes in well performance such as fracture-driven interactions\, refracturing\, etc. We will finally discuss applications\, limitations associated with those methodologies. \n  \nBio: \nDilhan Ilk is an Executive Vice President and Manager of the North America Division at DeGolyer and MacNaughton. Dr. Ilk earned a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in 2003 from Istanbul Technical University. In 2005\, he received a master’s degree in petroleum engineering\, and in 2010 he was awarded a doctorate in petroleum engineering\, both from Texas A&M University.  He manages projects including independent evaluations of reserves and resources. He specializes in assisting clients with the assessment of unconventional resources and well performance evaluation and forecasting using a systematic workflow that combines diagnostic methods with analytical and numerical techniques. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas. \n  \nHe is a member of SPE Reservoir Description and Dynamics advisory committee\, and currently he is the chair of Well Performance sub-committee of the SPE Reservoir Description and Dynamics advisory committee. He is a contributing author of the SPEE Monograph IV—Estimating Ultimate Recovery of Developed Wells in Unconventional Reservoirs and SPE PRMS Applications Guidelines (2022). He was co‑editor of the SPE digital publication series “Performance Forecasting in Shale Reservoirs.” \n  \nRegistration: Click HERE \n

SUMMARY:Technical Happy Hour: Jordan Jackson\, Designing for Efficiency
DESCRIPTION:Host: Society of Petroleum Engineers\, Denver Section \nEvent: May 2024 Technical Happy Hour \nTime: May 28th\, 4-6 (HH begins at 4\, Talk at 430\, Social until 6) \nLocation: Ovintiv 40th Floor\, 370 17th St\, Denver\, CO 80202 \nSponsor: Ovintiv \nStudy Group Category: Completion \nSpeaker: Jordan Jackson\, Completions Manager\, Ovintiv \nTitle: Designing for Efficiency \nAbstract:\n“Designing for Efficiency” reflects the approach of the Texas Operating Area completions teams drive to increase efficiency and maximize value.  The goal is to safely execute at the highest level to reduce cycle times\, cut costs\, all without jeopardizing well performance.  Understanding the hydraulics and designing for higher cluster efficiency are key for designing at higher total pump rates such as Simul and Trimul frac.  The use of these techniques along with the right sizing your casing design are critical elements in reducing wasted energy.  Frac smarter\, not harder. \nBio:\nJordan is the Completions Manager at Ovintiv for Texas Operating Area. He graduated in 2009 from Montana Tech with a degree in petroleum engineering. Jordan has been in the industry for 15 years working primarily Drilling & Completions for Encana/Ovintiv. He has worked a variety of assets from Haynesville\, Tuscaloosa Marine Shale (TMS)\, Eagle Ford\, and Permian Basin. \nRegistration Link: Click HERE
