The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has been a proud supporter of several education-based initiatives in the Denver/Colorado area for several years. Energy4me promotes fact-based education to help demystify the industry. It is designed to promote an energy conscious and educated society, and create interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers. Our goal is to foster student interest in STEM careers with opportunities to meet and interact with practicing engineers/technical professionals. For younger students, this typically involves the demonstration of various concepts through science experiments. Requests for older students typically are more along the lines of career mentorship, internships, and aid with STEM based/science fair projects.

SPE has also financially supported the Denver Metro Region Science and Engineering Fair (DMRSEF) and Colorado Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF) and Girls Entering STEM (GESTEM). In 2021/2022, SPE donated $7500 towards the success of these events.
