$15.00 – $55.00Rockies Resource Rumble: Using Machine Learning to Determine if the DJ Can Compete with the Venerable Williston or the Upstart PRB
As consolidation reshapes the landscape and E&Ps gear up for sustained operations, a pressing question arises: “Which Rockies operators and regions are best poised to thrive over the next decade?” In this analysis, we delve into key factors like inter-basin rock quality variations, half-cycle benchmarking, and operator rankings. Leveraging Novi’s proprietary machine learning tools, we aim to uncover the value of remaining inventory in each basin and identify the operators best positioned to capitalize on it.

Bio
Brandon’s skillset sits at the intersection of data science, energy finance, and petrophysics. His career journey began in 2015 at a micro-cap E&P startup in Calgary, Alberta, where they were involved in asset acquisition efforts, notably pursuing the Harmattan East Viking field.
From there, he transitioned to Houston, Texas, and joined Wood Mackenzie, where he played a vital role in integrating petrophysical and geological insights into economic analyses. Over five years, Brandon gained extensive experience covering every unconventional play across North America. Departing from Wood Mackenzie in 2022, Brandon joined the venerable Peters & Co. as an in-house subject matter expert, providing insights into U.S. unconventional plays and emerging technologies like lithium brines, helium exploration, hydrogen, and renewables.
Now, as Head of Research at Novi, Brandon leads the development of a machine learning-centric research platform to provide the upstream industry with cutting edge, data-driven insights.
