The Denver SPE section has a very active community outreach program, holding a handful of volunteering opportunities a month and contributing hundreds of volunteer hours yearly. We are always looking for more volunteers to allow us to widen the impact we have on the communities we live in. SPE Cares
SPE Cares volunteering activities involve charitable giving as well as volunteering for charitable organizations. Historically Denver SPE has volunteered and/or contributed to organizations such as the Denver Rescue Mission, the American Red Cross, Special Olympics Colorado and Oilfield Helping Hands (OHH).
Energy4Me is SPE’s energy outreach program. This program involves hands on experiments for kids and project and career mentorship for older students. It is a great way to get involved and teach kids about energy related concepts as well as providing guidance on engineering/technical sciences as a profession. SPE has been involved with several elementary, middle and high schools in the Denver area as well as the Denver Metro Region Science and Engineering Fair (DMRSEF), Colorado Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF), and Girls Entering STEM (GESTEM).
